🎯 H79 Gold Plan· Ngọc Huy

H79 Gold Plan – Daily Outlook, Oct 23: Gold Cracks 4,000 – Sell the Bounce at 4,046–4,054, Buy Only a Flush Into 3,945–3,960

The Big Picture: Gold broke the 4,100–4,150 base it had held all quarter on Thursday, then flushed to 3,987.85 at 10:00 PM ET in Asia before bouncing; it's chopping around 4,006 now. Brent is holding near $113.60, the highest since May, on reports of renewed U.S.-Israeli strike plans on Iran, Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and tanker hits around Hormuz. The 10-year fell more than 17 basis points to close at 4.972% (CNBC) – the biggest one-day drop since March 2023 – and sits near 4.966% now. The dollar index is flat around 101.67. Gold didn't get the usual lift from lower yields: the AI-driven stock selloff turned it into a source of cash. FedWatch puts next week's hike odds at only ~7–10%, but December is still ~75–80%. Higher-for-longer is the weight on gold; the war headlines are whipping it around, not holding it up.

Scenarios:
🔻 Base case (~55%): a technical bounce into 4,031–4,054 gets sold and gold retests 3,988. A break there opens 3,965 → 3,945.
🔺 Alternative (~30%): weekend short-covering takes back 4,054 and lifts gold into 4,064–4,072 – heavy resistance, tough to clear today.
⚠️ Tail (~15%): a clean break of 3,943 (the late-June year-to-date low) – a fast drop toward 3,900 is on the table.

Key Levels:
Resistance: 4,024 (23.6% retrace) · 4,031–4,036 (FVG, Asia high) · 4,046–4,054 (38.2% + FVG) · 4,063–4,072 (50% + FVG – the line in the sand) · 4,101–4,109 (old base, now the ceiling).
Support: 3,983–3,988 (Asia low) · 3,960–3,970 · 3,943 (year-to-date low) · 3,900.

U.S. Calendar Today:
9:45 AM ET flash manufacturing and services PMIs · 10:00 AM ET revised University of Michigan sentiment and inflation expectations.
Both are medium impact – no high-impact U.S. data today – and usually good for a $10–$20 jolt. Watch the UMich inflation-expectations line with oil this high: a jump there hands sellers another reason.

📋 Trade Plan:
🔴 SELL 4,046–4,054 | Stop 4,072 | TP1 4,024 → TP2 3,990
🟢 BUY 3,945–3,960 | Stop 3,930 | TP1 3,988 → TP2 4,024
Entry: only when price tags the zone and a 45m/1H bar closes in your favor (red to sell, green to buy). Don't short the hole at 4,000–4,010.
Invalidation: a 1H close above 4,072 cancels the short (next up 4,083 → 4,101–4,109); a 1H close under 3,930 cancels the long.
Note: flash PMIs 9:45 AM ET, UMich 10:00 AM ET – trim and tighten stops before the prints. It's Friday and the Fed meets Oct 27–28: go light into the weekend in case Iran/Israel headlines gap the open.
